Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Scholarship Competition

GENERAL INFORMATION: The 2022 Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Scholarship Competition will be held 5 PM, Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Arkansas High School in Texarkana, AR. Interview, dress rehearsal & sound check times will be sent to contestants once all paperwork is received. You can reserve your spot by emailing your official entry form to missttr1932@gmail.com. Please reserve your spot quickly so that we can plan and get a schedule out to candidates in a timely manner.
This is an Official Miss America Preliminary Competition. The 2022 Miss and Teen Texarkana & Miss and Teen Twin Rivers (Texas Side) will each compete in the 2022 Miss/Teen Texas in June of 2022, and the Miss and Teen Texarkana Twin Rivers (Arkansas side) will each compete in the 2022 Miss/Teen Arkansas in June of 2022.
All forms necessary for entry in the Miss Texarkana (TX), Miss Twin Rivers (TX) and Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers (AR) will be available by August 23, 2021 under the Miss Tab of the website www.misstexarkanatwinrivers.org. All forms necessary for entry in the Miss Texarkana OT (TX), Miss Twin Rivers OT (TX) and Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers OT (AR) will be available mid June under the Teen Tab of the website www.misstexarkanatwinrivers.org.
Final paperwork deadline to enter is FRIDAY, November 5, 2021. ALL PAPERWORK must be turned in to the Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Org. by the deadline. E-mail your one-page application to missttr1932@gmail.com NOW. This will reserve your spot in the line-up.

REMEMBER: Placement in the competition will be determined by the order in which we receive a candidate’s entry form: FIRST IN, LAST OUT RULE APPLIES. Please send your one page application/entry form in ASAP. Deadline for all other paperwork is November 5, 2021.
COMPETITION: Competition will include the following:
2. Physical Fitness in Aerobic Wear (TEEN ONLY): Teen candidates should wear a two piece active wear outfit that
includes a sports bra or other top and either capri length or short pants. Teens should wear simple tennis shoes or
jazz shoes with this active wear. The outfit should not have rhinestones, etc…. on it and it should be in good taste. 15%
of Score.
3.Talent: Talent may be anything you chose that does not cause any health, fire or safety hazards to the audience or
damage to the theater, and will be limited to on 1 1/2 minutes for Miss and Teen. Background music must be
e-mailed to missttr1932@gmail.com in an MP3 format ASAP. Again, the final deadline for music is
November 5, 2021. If you are NOT using a back-up tape, You must email us a video or mail a DVD of you
performing your talent, even if it is an instrumental or a monologue. It does not need to be professionally
videoed. Teen: 35% of Score. Miss: 40% of Score
4. Evening Wear: The evening wear phase of competition is designed for the judges to assess the contestant’s beauty,
poise, grace and commanding stage presence. Evening wear may be a long or short gown or evening pants. Teen
candidates will answer their on-stage question in conjunction with their Evening Wear. Miss Candidates will have
20 seconds to speak about their Social Impact Statement in conjunction with their Evening Wear. Teen: 25% of Score.
Miss: 20% of Score.
5. On Stage Interview (MISS ONLY): This will be an extension of the Private Interview in which one Judge will ask the
Candidate a question that he or she feels needed to be revisited. 15% of Score.
Please Note: Hair and make-up personnel are allowed prior to the pageant, but only in a designated area. NO parents, make-up personnel or hairdressers are allowed back stage during the competition.
DRESS REHEARSAL AND OPENING NUMBER: Rehearsal times will be announced prior to the pageant. There will be a sound check and blocking rehearsal on the day of the pageant. NO ONE is allowed at rehearsals other than the Candidates and the Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Committee members. You may want to bring a jacket or sweater to rehearsal.
OPENING NUMBER OUTFIT: Opening number outfit will be either silver, white, or gold cocktail dresses.
ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENTS: The Miss Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 25. High School students must be Seniors; Graduating Seniors that do not turn 18 prior to July 31, 2022, would be eligible to compete as an Outstanding Teen. Must be no older than twenty-five (25) years of age on December 31, 2022. Must be a full-time student, resident, or employee in the state which they hope to compete in for at least six months prior to the first local preliminary in which you compete. At the end of 9 ½ minutes, the contestant will have an optional 30 seconds to cover any additional issues that she would like to comment on or clarify.
